Miss T's glorious quilt!

When I found I was pregnant, I wanted to make something grand for my miss tessa so that she felt special. It's taken me a few months to get exactly what I want. I bought the cutest Amy Bulter and Grand Revival fabrics at my favorite local quilt shop a while back.

I went in the shop with one idea...saw a quilt hanging up on the wall for display and decided to change my plans and do the one I saw. I took a pic of it, bought 1 1/2 yards of 7 different fabrics. I went home and made a pattern!
After piecing the top and back, and buying the batting, I took it to a quilting store in Utah when I was visiting family and got it professionally quilted. I LOVE how it turned out. And then all I had to do was bind the edges! The quilt it MUCH bigger than I originally planned, but I don't care. It'll just grow with her! The finished quilt is 76 x 94....it almost fits a stinkin' queen!

Here is the finished product:

I love the quilt pattern that I chose. It was a penny per square inch....not bad!

Nikki, I'm Jason's friend (and Becky's!) and I love to read this blog of yours and see all your craft ideas. I LOVE this quilt that you made! I have had the cutest pink hawaiian fabric for over a year that I have been wanting to make matching quilts out of (for my girls), and I could never find the right pattern. Well, this is it! I'm not really a quilter, but I'm sure I can figure it out, do you mind if I copy it? So, the white borders, did you put a border around every piece? What type of material is the border? Also, the choice of fabrics is gorgeous, I love Amy Butler. Thanks for the inspiration!

Elizabeth,
I don't mind at all if you copy it! The large squares are 12in.x12in. The white strips in between is just white muslin. I cute 1 1/2in. strips with a 1/2in. seam allowance. Yes, I put the white border around each piece! Crazy! Good luck!

Awesome, thanks for the pointers to get me started. I'll send a picture when (in a year) I do this project! That is a ton of work, but so worth it for the final piece.
